Community Garden

During the summer, New Hope for Marketview Heights collaborates with the Marketview Heights Collective Action Project at the community garden located at 155 First Street, just north of Central Park. Pastor Earlando, Pastor Marissa, Rev. Turner, and other dedicated volunteers gather every Saturday to nurture the garden and harvest fresh produce, which is generously distributed at no cost to local residents. This initiative is our way of connecting with and contributing to the community.

Our outreach extends beyond gardening. We actively promote awareness of the garden and initiative. Pastor Earlando and Rev. Turner also deliver produce to community members they’ve met during our prayer walks, integrating spiritual support with practical help.

In 2022, half of the proceeds from our inaugural golf tournament was allocated to enhance the garden's infrastructure, funding a new tool shed to support our gardening efforts. This enduring partnership between Marketview Heights Collective Action Project and New Hope continues to thrive, strengthening the bonds within our community and fostering a shared commitment to growth and unity.
